An old quilt top...and a new little something!

No one may remember this quilt top, because I made it a long time ago.  I am trying to decide how to finish up all my quilt tops...into quilts! This was in a matchy-matchy period of my quilting career.
This is a detail of the corner blocks.  I don't remember that green paisley...wonder if the scraps are hiding in the stash!!?

Have a great day, everyone!

Julie

I love it and don't think it looks that matchy-matchy....

I agree. I think the monochromatic color scheme has a calming effect ,and a good balance to the busy pattern.

Wow! Love the old quilt. How big (or should I say small?) the HST in the border's are? They look so tiny!! It is lovely. The little change brought to the Jacob's ladder block will make quite a difference I think. Looks good so far!

Pretty greens! It looks like a lot of work went into the top. Nice playtime with Jacob's ladders!

I am not a big green fan but THAT is beautiful!

The feathered star quilt is beautiful. That type star design is not the easiest to piece and you did very well with it. It is interesting to look back at our quilts from different time periods and see what interested us at the time and how our styles have changed.

I recently (yesterday) discovered an early top of mine and was surprised at how matchy-matchy it was. And here I thought I'd always been scrappy!

The green quilt is definitely not what we're used to seeing from you! It's funny how much your style has changed, it's become much freer, I think. Thank you for showing a glimpse of your patchwork past.

I don't think I've seen you make anything matchy matchy, but it's a lovely quilt! :0)

What a different and more liberated quilter you have become! Still, the green matchy is a beauty in it's own way. Love the reworked Jacob's Ladder blocks!

Ooooh, I like the pinwheel with the JL blocks.

I have a couple of matchy-matchy quilts, but most are scrappy. I prefer scrappy - to me they are more "traditional."

That is a beautiful feathered star. Don't know if I have seen one before with applique in the middle--beautiful!
The little twist on the Jacob's Ladder blocks is truly a game changer. What a fun design it creates!

The green quilt top is lovely, but doesn't seem like you at all now! Still would be nice to see if finished. The pinwheels in the Jacob's Ladder blocks look great, love this idea.

I like the FS medallion and the calm greens. Nice addition to the corner rosebud blocks. Nifty JL variation!

It may be matchy matchy, but it is gorgeous! I remember that green paisley.:)

Love both! Old and new!

Your feathered star medallion is beautiful. I hope you finish it. The applique adds just the right spark of complimentary color to set it all off. The new JL blocks look like they're going to create a cool secondary pattern.

The green (aka matchy matchy) quilt definitely deserves to be finished. It is beautiful!

I love the green quilt and don't think it is too matchy/matchy. The blocks is great, too. Wonderful choice for the binding prize with Kim Diehl's new book!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
